  1. Rock band (n.): a group of musicians who play a type of music with a strong beat

    e.g.
    The prominent (傑出的) rock band (搖滾樂隊) Beatles won the hearts of millions of young people because of their unique (別具一格的) style of music in the 1960s.

  2. Big hit (n.): a thing or person that is very popular or successful

    e.g.
    The stylish singer was a big hit (非常受歡迎的人或事) with designers and fans.

  3. Hum (v.): to sing without opening your lips

    e.g.
    That lyrical (抒情的) pop song has been at the top of the pop charts (排行榜) for weeks because of its catchy (動聽的) tunes (曲調) that can make you hum (哼唱) along.

  4. Catchy (adj.): pleasing and easy to remember

    e.g.
    At the superstar’s concert (演唱會), he impressed (使欽佩) the audience with his talent (才華) by improvising (即興創作) a catchy (動聽易記的) song at their request.

  5. Die-hard (adj.): being determined not to change the mind

    e.g.
    The actor did not worry that he would lose some of his die-hard (忠實的) fans despite his military service (兵役).

  6. Musician (n.): someone who is skilled in playing music, usually as a job

    e.g.
    Ed Sheeran is one of the most famous contemporary (當代的) musicians (音樂家).

  7. Comeback (n.): an attempt to become famous or important again

    e.g.
    The older generation laments (哀歎) that Cantonese opera (粵劇) has lost much of its audience. They want the art to make a comeback (復出).
