  1. Assistive technology (n. phr.): technology that helps improve people’s well-being

    e.g.
    Assistive technologies (輔助技術) offer many convenience (便利) to the disabled (殘疾人士). For example, screen amplifiers (屏幕放大器) help make text (文字) and images clearer.

  2. Blessing (n.): something good that you are grateful for

    e.g.
    Artificial intelligence (人工智能) has been widely used in smart home (智能家居), mobile payment (行動支付) and many other aspects of life. The technology is such a blessing (幸事) for human beings.

  3. Electronic gadget (n. phr.): a small device relating to computers and running on electricity

    e.g.
    The professor (教授) encouraged his students to invent (發明) more multifunctional (多功能的) electronic gadgets (電子裝置) to help people in need.

  4. Intelligent voice assistant function (n. phr.): an automatic aid by voice

    e.g.
    The intelligent voice assistant function (智能語音助理功能) can answer and solve users’ questions by analysing (分析) their voice commands (指令).

  5. Text-to-speech function (n. phr.): the ability of a computer or other related devices to read text aloud

    e.g.
    The text-to-speech function (文字轉換語音功能) allows people with eye problems to receive voice messages instead of lengthy (冗長的) texts.

  6. App (n.): short form for application; a computer program

    e.g.
    To meet the needs of the public (滿足大眾需求), developers (開發商) have produced all kinds of new apps (應用程式).

  7. Electronic device (n.): objects relating to computers and running on electricity

    e.g.
    People can read news on electronic devices (電子裝置), keeping abreast of (了解……的最新情況) national (國家的) and international (國際的) affairs.

  8. Convenience (n.): the quality of being useful, easy or suitable for somebody

    e.g.
    Technological innovations (發明) like televisions, refrigerators, microwaves (微波爐) and smartphones (智能手機) have brought great convenience (便利) to humans.
