Travel
(v.): to go from one place to another, usually over a long distance
e.g.
Hongkongers like to
travel (旅行) because they can
escape (逃走) from their
hectic (忙碌的) life in the busy city during the trips.
Tour
(n.): a short trip through a place to look around and learn about it
e.g.
Going on
tours (導賞團) of
museums (博物館) is a
meaningful (有意義的) way to
spend (度過) weekends. Sadly, people in our city enjoy going to shopping malls more.
Guide
(n.): a person who shows a place to visitors
e.g.
The
knowledgeable (有見識的)
guide (導遊) has made our trip to
Seoul (首爾) much more than a leisure activity. I have learnt a lot about the history of the city.
Borscht
(v.): a soup made from beetroot, originally from Ukraine
e.g.
The
housewife (家庭主婦) is

Local
(n.): a person who lives in the place where you are talking about

(n. phr.): a kind of restaurant that originated in Hong Kong and is characterised by its wide variety of dishes and affordable prices
e.g.
Sipping (啜飲) tea and chatting with one another in
cha chaan tengs (茶餐廳) is one of the most
popular (受歡迎的) leisure activities among
retirees (退休人士).
