Theme: Showbiz (p.151)

  1. Tour (n.): an organised trip that people go on to different places to perform

    e.g.
    Owing to the catchy (悅耳易記的) music style (曲式), the band (樂隊) has won the hearts of many young people. They will go on a tour (巡演) in Italy next month.

  2. Schedule (n.): a list of planned activities or things to be done showing the times or dates when they are intended to happen or be done

    e.g.
    The director (導演) is motivating (激勵) the film crew (全體工作人員) to stick to the tight schedule (進度表).

  3. Perform (v.): to do something like sing and dancing in front of an audience

    e.g.
    The well-known (著名的) orchestra (管弦樂隊) will perform (演奏) Beethoven in a golden (金色的) concert hall (音樂廳) in Vienna (維也納).

  4. Podcast (n.): a radio programme that can be downloaded from the internet and play on a computer or on an MP3 player

    e.g.
    Some influencers (網紅) like to cover (翻唱) classic (經典的) songs or promote (宣傳) their new works (作品) on podcasts (播客) to enhance (提高) their popularity (人氣).

  5. Buzz (n.): an exciting atmosphere full of continuous sound

    e.g.
    At the concert (音樂會), in addition to (除了) showing off (展示) his voice, the singer was also making jokes with the audience. It was really a buzz (氣氛活躍) there.

  6. Stadium (n.): a large closed area with rows of seats used for sports events

    e.g.
    The organiser (主辦方) plans to invite some stars (明星) who are good at sports to their variety show (綜藝節目), which is recorded (錄製) in the stadium (體育場).

  7. Theatre (n.): a building with rows of seats, each row usually higher than the one in front, from which people can watch a performance or other activity

    e.g.
    This classic (經典的) musical (音樂劇) will be revived (重新上演) at the theatre (劇院), where many of its enthusiasts (狂熱者) will flock to (蜂擁而至) to enjoy the fantastic (精彩絕倫) performance.
