  1. Performer (n.): someone who does entertainment in front of audiences

    e.g.
    The cinema is showing a film about stunt (特技) performers (表演者).

  2. Nominee (n.): someone who is nominated for an activity

    e.g.
    A list of nominees (候選人) for the Hong Kong Film Awards (香港電影金像獎) has been posted (發佈) online.

  3. Eligible (adj.): qualified or able to do something

    e.g.
    The man will be eligible (有資格的) for the preliminary (初步的) round (輪次) of this songwriting (作曲) competition.

  4. Nominate (v.): to officially suggest someone for an election, job, position, or honour

    e.g.
    The science fiction film (科幻電影) was nominated (提名) for an Oscar (奧斯卡金像獎).

  5. Nomination (n.): an official suggestion of someone as a candidate

    e.g.
    The star is confident (有信心的) to get the nomination (提名) for best actress (最佳女主角).

  6. Take advantage of (v. phr.): use something in order to achieve a result

    e.g.
    The director (導演) took advantage of (利用) some homemade (自製的) props (道具) to set the scene (場景).

  7. Celebrity (n.): a person who is famous in the industry of entertainment

    e.g.
    The celebrity (名流) showed off (展現) her rap (說唱) skills to the audience during the live broadcast (直播).

  8. Embark on (v. phr.): to start doing something

    e.g.
