The Four Seasons

Weather changes from month to month. Most places have four seasons. They are spring, summer, autumn and winter. In some places, there are only two.

Spring is the season of rebirth. While nights are still cold, days in spring are warm. It is a time when animals give birth and new plants begin to grow.

Summer is hot. Days are long during summertime. Many people like to go on holiday in the summer because the weather is nice.

Autumn is the season when trees start losing their leaves. Days get shorter and the weather becomes colder. It is a beautiful time of the year because leaves turn yellow, orange or red.

Winter is cold. In many parts of the world, it snows during winter.
